For cutting this part Rol Exhaust Flex-O-Pipe 2-1/2 inch ID - Part No. 540250, you can use a Chop saw which leaves a smooth edge but some deburring may be required or a Band/Hack saw which also leaves a rough edge and may requires trimming and deburring. Yes, you can cut off the amount you need. However the advantage of the pre-cut lengths is that the ends are crimped at the factory after being cut, making sure that there are no problems fitting the connecting exhaust pipe.Answered on 12/23/2011 by John the Car-Doc from AAP

My catalytic converter was stolen off of my car. Can I use this pipe to connect the muffler back to the engine to reduce noise?
