    Can Flex-O-Pipe leak exhaust gases around the many flex joints or is the metal completely sealed? Also, is the inside of the pipe smooth as to not cause a restriction of gas flow?

      For cutting this part Rol Exhaust Flex-O-Pipe 2-1/2 inch ID - Part No. 540250, you can use a Chop saw which leaves a smooth edge but some deburring may be required or a Band/Hack saw which also leaves a rough edge and may requires trimming and deburring.     can i cut this pipe to fit?

      A:

      Yes, you can cut off the amount you need. However the advantage of the pre-cut lengths is that the ends are crimped at the factory after being cut, making sure that there are no problems fitting the connecting exhaust pipe.

  • Q:

    My catalytic converter was stolen off of my car. Can I use this pipe to connect the muffler back to the engine to reduce noise? My car is VERY old and no longer requires emissions testing, I just need a cheap way to dampen the rumble until I can get the money to have it properly fixed.

      Yes, it can be used to connect the muffler back to the engine. But, you will have to check on the outlet diameter of the existing pipe to match for it.
