Worked well on my 2006 Mitsubishi Galant ES 2.4L The original gasket was silicone which got eroded and washed away by the elements over time and began to leak since the vehicle's design has the tranny pan positioned vertically. Thus the bottom portion of the seal is constantly exposed. This new gasket withstands the elements better. No leaks. It is worth mentioning that I also bought a new pan. This has made the new seal better. A few words of advice regarding the fluid and installation. First, the manual calls for Diamond SPIII auto tranny fluid ONLY! Of course, it is only carried by the dealer. Don't fall for it! Mitsu dealer mechanic has told me Kia or Hyundai SPIII fluid is exactly the SAME at half the cost! They use it all the time. I did too and no issues! Second, there is no tranny filter (at least none was on my vehicle). After checking with the dealer via VIN#, the filter is internal and is not replacable. Basically that means you will have to change the fluid more often. Third, during disassembly the pan might be stuck hard to the tranny casing (mine was). Don't bang on it! Instead, use a long sturdy stick (I used a bunch of socket extensions connected together) and pry it via the dipstick hole. Needless to say be prepared for the fluid waterfall. Finally, when installing the new gasket, I recommend using a thin sewing thread to attach gasket to the pan. I tied each hole, nice and tight, knots facing the outside, leaving long end strands hanging. Once I threaded all of the bolts in, I carefully snapped the strings and pulled any remnants out. Then make sure to tighten the bolts in a criss cross pattern to the correct torque. Overtightening will definitely cause a leak. Good luck!
