  • Q:

Does the compressor come pre-charged with oil?

      A:

New and remanufactured compressors usually come with a full charge of oil, but not always. I would always recommend you to just completely drain the oil and add the known proper amount/proper weight/proper type of oil to the system. The amount and type should be on the AC specification tag under the hood. Usually 8-10 ounces of PAG-46. Don't forget to add UV dye.

  • Q:

The dealership says I need to replace the clutch on the compressor. If I buy a new compressor would it be less expensive than replacing the clutch?

      A:

It may be cheaper to replace the clutch but it is a heck of a lot easier to just replace the whole compressor in my opinion.

  • Q:

in my 2003 lancer es, when i start the car i get this very long and high pitched screeching sound. i had taken the car to the dealership and they said my compressor was cracked.. if i buy and install this part, what else would i need?

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

You should only need this if it is the only problem. Once you have this installed, you will need to have the A/C system evacuated and recharged with freon.
