A:
New and remanufactured compressors usually come with a full charge of oil, but not always. I would always recommend you to just completely drain the oil and add the known proper amount/proper weight/proper type of oil to the system. The amount and type should be on the AC specification tag under the hood. Usually 8-10 ounces of PAG-46. Don't forget to add UV dye.Answered on 5/30/2012 by Vincent from AAP
