      Comments about BWD EGR Valve:

A perfect stock repleacement that solved a cryptic puzzle. The old one was shorting the reference voltage and sending TPS and MAP codes. Knock sensor was going crazy too. Dropped this in and voilá, all my troubles went away.

          A:

With reference to your inquiry on the BWD EGR Valve - part# EGR1329, the EGR valve on your 1999 Pontiac Grand Am would be located off the side of the intake, close to the exhaust manifold. You will have to remove the air intake tube around the throttle body to access it. Yes, EGR Valve can be cleaned to help its performance; you can use a carburetor cleaner and a small-bristled brush like a wire brush, toothbrush or pipe cleaner to clean off the carbon from the metal exhaust gas return tube and the gas entry port on the valve.
