      A:

For installing this Ready-Aire Heater Core -part# 394197, disconnect the cable from the car battery's negative terminal. If the car has an air bag system, wait a couple of minutes for the air bag to lose power. Drain the engine coolant. Remove the plug from underneath with a wrench and drain the coolant into a clean container. Detach all components on the interior dashboard/instrument panel. This includes the steering column, airbags on both sides, center and/or floor consoles, trim panels, air vents and electrical connectors. Check a service manual (like the Haynes guides) for a list of what needs to be removed on your model and in what order. Remove the instrument panel from the car. Disconnect the bolts holding it in place, then lift and pull it toward you. It will probably take two people to lift up the panel and carry it out of the car. Disconnect all hoses and lines connected to the heater core housing by removing their bolts or clamps. If they have any seals, gaskets or O-rings at the connectors, discard these and use new ones when reconnecting the lines. Open the heater core housing by removing the nuts holding it in place. Open the heater core cover and place the core within the core housing. Remove the old core before installing the new one. Reassemble the heater core and connect the lines to it. Reassemble the entire instrument panel. Refill the engine coolant, reconnect the battery cable and check for any coolant leaks in the system.
