    Where is the crank shaft sensor on a 2002 Saturn L-200?

      The crankshaft position sensor on your 2002 Saturn L200 should be located on the bottom front of engine behind the starter. You have to remove the two bolts that are holding the Starter to get to the sensor.       The crankshaft position sensor on your 2003 pontiac grand am should be located under hood in center at rear engine area, mounted on passenger side rear of cylinder head.

    Can a faulty crankshaft sensor cause the fuel relay to not function correctly making one think that they have a bad relay or a bad fuel pump because it is not sending reference pulses to the fuel pump relay while cranking engine? (Engine cranks but will not start and there is no fuel delivery to to fuel rail).

      Yes, crank shaft position sensor may be the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

      The crankshaft position sensor should be located on a small metal bracket very close to the harmonic balancer which is attached to the end of the crankshaft.

      A:

      A camshaft position sensor, or cylinder identification sensor is used to determine the engine cycle position the information is used to provide individual cylinder ignition and injection control. Many engine management systems use an inductive type of sensor that is located near the camshaft; when the camshaft rotates a single signal is passed to the ECU to indicate a reference point in the engine cycle. Some system manufactures may use a Hall effect-type sensor.

      The crankshaft position sensor is located on the engine, passenger side, where the crankshaft comes out of the engine, on the lower side. You can see the sensor from the top side, with a 2 point wire connector on it.
