Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Steering Column Shift Tube and Plunger Assembly:
before buying this shift tube, first inspect the old one to make sure it's not just a screw loose, if the two screws in the end are tight then take it apart and clean it make sure it's wore out before you spend money you don't need to spend. Chances are that one of the screws on the end of the shaft where the sift cable is attached is loose and the bushings, don't forget plenty of grease when you put it back together. If you do need this then you will have to drill out the holes for the pins, it doesn't come with hardware and the old ones are too big.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Steering Column Shift Tube and Plunger Assembly:
This part is a perfect replacement for my old 93' F-150.
Mine had broken suddenly, so I ordered this one in, and it came within 4 days. It installed and works perfectly!
Could've given 6 starts if directions had been included, but no big deal as there were plenty of instructions online.

Comments about Dorman - OE Solutions Steering Column Shift Tube and Plunger Assembly:
Installation requires removing pressed in pins and pressing them into the new assembly. I used an arbor press, although you may have success with a drift and hammer. I didn't break the casting, but I'd recommend being careful.
I'm a little concerned that the plunger portion looks like pot metal, when the original steel plunger broke, but it is working, and it's Dorman, so I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. The original did go 250,000 miles before it broke, and the original plunger may have only broken because the original outer sleeve broke first. Now that I know how Ford designed this thing, I'll be a little gentler with the shifter.
You don't need to remove the column to install this in an F-350, just lower it, but it is still a bit of a project.
