KYB Strut Boot Kits prevent these contaminants from entering the strut by covering the entire strut shaft in a highly durable plastic bellows. This can easily extend the life of the strut. The KYB Strut Boot Kit includes a polyfoam travel-limiting bumper. It’s designed to protect the strut from bottoming out and protects other components from extreme movement damage.

Honestly, i don't understand why people are having a hard time installing this. The instructions are fairly clear, if you pay attention and aren't an idiot you can get this attached to your strut easily. Bought it for my '01 civic, had the bump stop on upside down and it wouldn't fit until i READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! come on people! Anyway, the boot seems durable and the bump stop in particular is much more solid than the flimsy rubber garbage that comes stock. great buy

Good quality parts, but it's a bit difficult to fit the yellow bumper into the boot. I had to use some bike tire irons (plastic round-ended tools) to coax the boot onto the bumper. Instructions could have been a bit more clear.

The website states these boots will fit my '01 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder 2.4L, after my husband installs them, we take for a test drive, and the 1 slips off. Very frustrated he had to take both of them off, replace with others and then finish up.

I bought this along with all the other KYB parts to upgrade my 1992 Celica GT coupe. The parts checker for advance auto said it was the correct fit for the front boot, it is nowhere close, as soon as I got them out of the box there was an obvious mistake on its application for this vehicle. I have 9 other vehicles but this doesn't fit any of them so I returned the front boots.The rear ones fit with a slight modification to the lip of the strut holder.Otherwise happy with all the parts,the Advance Auto parts application needs to be changed at least for this part.

the boots keep dirt and dust off of the shaft. if you want to get the full life out of the strut then replace them if you dont care about how long they last ( if you plan on selling the car in a year ) then dont worrie about them but for $15 a side why not just do themAnswered on 4/2/2010 by kiakid2007 from baltimore, md
