The w clips was not on my old brakes when I took them off. Do I have to use these and if so explain how they go on....Asked on 10/22/2012 by Dave from Roanoke Va1 answer

This metal wire clip should hold the outer brake pad to the caliper. The inner pad should be be clipped to the piston. The outer pad may be pinned, clipped or pressed tightly on the caliper. Using a prying device, snap the metal wire clip clear from the caliper, then slide the outer brake pad away from the caliper. Push metal clips from new inner pad into caliper piston. Slide new outer pad into caliper. Re-attach metal wire clip using the prying device.
