Comments about ACDelco Fuel Tank Selector Valve:
Photo of product shows electrical pigtail as part of package. No such item was shipped with the valve. If you need the electrical connections for this valve, be aware that you will not get them with the valve, as shown in the photo of the product in the product description.

Comments about ACDelco Fuel Tank Selector Valve:
The way this product is put together by the manufacture was completely backwards compared to the stock valve. Mounting bracket was on the wrong side of the valve. And, on a corner not on the side, as it should have been. This valve should mount on the inside of the frame w/2 ports forward and 4 ports back. To mount this one with the existing bracket the 2 ports were facing back while the 4 were facing forward and against the frame. Manufactor should look at a OEM switch before building and selling a replacment part!

Comments about ACDelco Fuel Tank Selector Valve:
Bought this to replace the faulty one on our motor home. The number of gas lines is correct, but the old one only has one wire to it. The part comes with no wiring diagram or instructions and has a lable stating "Read instructions before installing". [...] What's the use being a "do-it-yourself" retailer with recommendations like that?

Comments about ACDelco Fuel Tank Selector Valve:
The mounting holes to the frame were correct but that was as "universal" as it got.

I have a 92 F250 7.3 diesel, I bought this valve to replace the original which is pretty clearly stamped; pump, source, return, front, and back regarding which line hooks up to which port. The ac delco valve has a label that states read instructions before installation, it does not however, have any instructions or any labels to indicate what hooks up where!! Additionally, the ports are set up differently with 4 on top and 2 on the bottom. The original has 2 top, 2 bottom, and 2 horizontal on the end, so I cannot even attempt to just hook the lines up by using a positional reference. Please clarify.1 answer

The port setup is like 4 on top and 2 at the bottom. Let assume the 4 top ports as A,B, C and D - A connects to Auxilary fuel tank, B(right next to A) connects to Main fuel tank, C (just below B) connects to Main fuel tank via Fuel filter and D( just below A) connects to the Auxilary fuel tank via Fuel filter. The 2 ports at the bottom connection is like - one to the Engine(slightly bigger than the other port) and the other from the Engine. This is the port setup for the ACDelco Fuel Tank Selector Valve.Q:
I just bought this to replace the switch on my 82 chevy p30 454 Allegro motor home. The valve itself looks right, but I only have one wire that controled the old valve. I take it 2 wires are probably for the gas guage (that I don't need, wired seperately) and probably 1 wire for the ground. Any ideas how to get this to work since everything is obviously after market?1 answer
