The Monroe Sensa-Trac truck shock absorber with PSD (position sensitive damping) and the Safe Tech system combines our exclusive precision tapered grooves in the pressure tube with application engineered valving and Fluon banded piston to improve the ride, handling, and safety characteristics of the vehicle. These features allow the Monroe Sensa-Trac truck shock absorber to adjust more rapidly to changing road and weight conditions than any other available shock absorber.

Product Features:
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction
  • Full Displaced Valving: Tuned specifically for each application, this valving automatically adjusts to road extremes to provide consistency and ride
  • Fluon Banded Piston: The fluon band provides consistent sealing between the piston and pressure tube which delivers better control and increased durability.
  • 1-3/8" Bore: Lower operating pressure than standard 1" bore units
  • Unique Groove Tube - PSD: Precision tapered grooves in the pressure tube perform like an additional stage of valving for optimum ride tuning.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration.
  • 5/8" Piston Rod: Heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod for long service life. On non-dust shield units only
  • Special Seal: "Self-lubricating" fluid seal designed to retain gas without excessive wear or friction.

Comments about Monroe Sensa-Trac Light Truck Shock Absorber:

Installation on my 2000 Ford Ranger was very easy. Exact fit. Comes with all the hardware needed. I installed all 4 shocks 2 weeks ago and find the ride is a 100% smoother. Should have done this a long time ago.

Comments about Monroe Sensa-Trac Light Truck Shock Absorber:

Worked OK for 1st year, but faded quickly.
Don't recommend if you want performance. Compression resistance totally disappears after 1 year. Extention resistance stays good. Very bouncy ride with a lot of wheel hop under acceleration and braking.
Will stiffen up a lot during the winter but looses everything in the summer. Really could not tell any difference from old shocks.
Do not buy if you want better performance than your old shocks.
If you want something cheap that looks new, this is the shock for you, or just sand blast your old ones and repaint them to save money!

Though I could have done it, I had a friend who had a blow torch to heat off the rusted bolts and nuts. I would recommend Monroe shocks and struts if you're looking to replace your old ones. I always been told you get what you buy and these were great and now my ride much smoother

Rides real smooth with these shocks. Had a blown out Bilstein on the right rear. These affordable replacements work great.
