      Comments about BWD Combination Switch:

The combination switch is easy to install. Total time less than 15 minutes, including air bag capacitor bleedoff time. There is one small annoyance over the oem switch. The turn signal detent release lever produces a noticible click when the steering wheel is turned past the release cam, whereas the oem switch did not exhibit such click. For the price compared to the stealership cost, the annoyance is something I can put up with.

            A:

When diagnosing an electrical circuit, it is important to first make sure that the fuse and relay are working properly. The problem may be even with the flasher, turn signal switch, instrument cluster, the turn signal bulbs and sockets or circuit boards themselves. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

This BWD Combination switch has 3 primary functions that is the high beams for the headlights, the headlights on and off switch running lights and the turn signals. It is referred to as a combination switch and it has to be service together as a combination unit, as assembly.

will replacing this part solve a problem with when the headlights are turned on the running and brake lights don't work.

You got a bad ground connection working there. Start by checking the grounds in the trunk, then make sure your grounding straps from the engine to chassis are there and that they are clean and tight. Plus, check the battery cables. It seems there is a loose ground wire supplying ground to some of the lights. Since the brake light works when head lights are off but not when they are on, the partial ground wasn't enough for all them to work at the same time.

I just ordered this part. It is my understanding that it will correct the problem with my turn signals and hazard indicators not working. Sometimes they do, most times they don't. Have I ordered the correct part?
