Comments about BWD Idle Air Control Valve:
I have a 99 Ford Ranger 2.5 liter. My trucks idle was way to fast so I purchased the IAC and now it idle is back to normal and my truck runs great. Don't forget to disconnect battery when installing so the vehicles computer can reset itself to read the IAC better.

Comments about BWD Idle Air Control Valve:
96 ford ranger 2.3. Part looks like its brand new, but don't be fooled, i have installed 3 of these to fix a high-idle condition only to get the same result..a high-idle condition. I am not one to complain about this sort of thing but spare yourself the headache and buy the OEM part for 3x the price; it'll actually work. I've spent months trying to troubleshoot my engine only to find that this part is to blame. Don't buy this Chinese junk

Q:
can th eIAC valve be cleaned with throttle body clearer or MAF cleaner in the future??1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Yes, you can use carbeurator cleaner or throttle body cleaner for cleaning the Idle Air Control Valve (IAC), you can use MAF cleaner on IAC as well, but it won't be much effective. But, please make sure, for cleaning MAF sensor use cleaner specifically made for cleaning MAF sensors. Note: Do not use carbeurator or intake cleaner or any other solution on the MAF Sensor (as it will damage the MAF sensor).Q:
I have a 1996 Ford Explorer and when i start it it idles really low and at a few occasions when i start it the rpms go up then just drop and stall. Could This Idle air control valve be my problem?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Few signs of a bad Idle Air Control Valve are Low RPMs, Stalling, Weather Variations. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem. For any further assistance, please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.Q:
I have a 96 explorer when ideling in gear or park the engine runs rough and sometimes dies but when you press the gas it runs fine1 answer

A:
The idle air control valve should be the possible cause of the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
I have a 95 Ranger 4.0.If the IAC valve is bad will it cause the engine to idle faster in cold weather? When the weather is warm the idle goes up and down and sometimes the engine will stall while at a stop?? Could this be caused by the IAC ?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Symptoms of a bad Idle Air Control Valve: Idle Air Control Valve-related no-start conditions usually only occur on older vehicles with fully electronic (drive-by-wire, DBW) throttles. Generally speaking, the engine will catch and run for a second or two, stutter and die. When rapidly decelerating, the driver lifts his foot from the throttle pedal and applies the brake. Once the driver's foot is clear of the throttle, the engine's TB valve completely shuts. An obstructed or stuck-shut IAC will result in a rich air-fuel ratio at idle, so the engine will start very easily while cold and then die suddenly after a slight puff of black tail-pipe smoke. An intermittent stalling condition is one in which the vehicle might start fine, act as though it's going to die, idle smoothly and then die completely.Q:
Does it come with the gasket?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
No, this BWD Idle Air Control Valve (Part No. 28944) does not come with gasket.Q:
I recently had an experience with my engine revving real high, and causing my transmission to break. Would this have previnted that problem? And does this affect the shifting of the transmission?3 answers

In searching web sites I found the answer to my own question. And this particular part will cause the engine to idle above normal rpms if deffective. But thanks anyway.A:

I have a 1995 Lincoln Continental 4.6L and when it is in park or when I stop at a light or stop sign, the idle starts to change from normal to low back and forth and unless I give it more gas stalls. Other than that it runs just fine! Is it throttle solenoid, idle solenoid, Idle control valve or something else? Will the free diagnostic check at Advance show what it is? Thanks!1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It could be any one of those three things. The store may be able to tell you but your best would be to have it looked at by a certified mechanic.
