This was an exact fit for my girlfriend's 97 Ford Explorer. It works just like the original. It fixed my problem with no wiper pump operation.

I was concerned reading the other review this switch would not be compatible. This part fit my 97 Explorer 4 door perfectly. It was easy to install (Torx 20 needed) and now it has fixed my problems with the washer switch, turn signal, intermittent wiper, etc not working or intermittently working. The feel of activating the turn signal is a bit different than the OE part, it is not as good. Other than that this part is a great replacement part. For help on how to install please see the you tube video that I found and attached for how to dis assemble the IP to be able to provide clearance to get the column cover off. It took me 1 - 1/2 hours and I also replaced the IP bulbs.
