Comments about BWD Sensor - ABS:
Replacement part was designed a little different but still worked and system works fine now. My ABS warning light was coming on intermittently. I had trouble determining the exact cause so I replaced this part at the same time as the ABS control module. Replacing both fixed my problem for probably half the price of taking it to the dealer for evaluation and repair. Intallation was easy.

Comments about BWD Sensor - ABS:
If you have an older F150 or Ford Explorer with an abs lamp on, 95% of the time it is because of this sensor. It is cheap and easy enough to just throw one on to see if it fixes the problem. I did not even bother with reading the trouble code on my truck.
If you have trouble getting the old one out do not pry on it. Twist is back and fourth a few times to loosen it up using the tab for the securing bolt. If you pry on it and break the old one then they are a pain to replace, especially if pieces of the old one fall inside the differential housing. All you need is a 3/8 wrench and 10 minutes if that.

Comments about BWD Sensor - ABS:
Called the local Ford dealer first about this part. Quoted [$], ouch! Found what I needed at Advance's website, paid online then called the store to confirm they received payment and had the part waiting for me. Save me alot of grief knowing all I had to do was drive to the store and pick it up. No more, "sorry, out of stock. Try driving to our other store across town." I walked in the door, the man handed the part and reciept to me and I was ready to go home for the install. The part itself installed just fine and made my truck's idiot light go out. Mission accomplished.

Comments about BWD Sensor - ABS:
Installed this in a 2000 Ranger. ABS light is now off and speedo is working again. New sensor measured 1.9k ohms and from my research it should be within 0.8 - 1.4k ohms. Seems to be working fine though. Old one was around 10M ohms so it was definitely shot.
May not be the best quality but its a good $ for what you get.
Comments about BWD Sensor - ABS:
As J.R. below says, this does not fit an '02 4 door explorer. Wasted an hour of my time driving to the store and back. Now I have to take it back.

Comments about BWD Sensor - ABS:
If the old ABS sensor breaks off in the rear pumpkin just use a punch and hammer it into smaller pieces and pull out the fragments
Comments about BWD Sensor - ABS:
I bought this to replace the ABS sensor in the rear differential on my 2002 Ford Explorer XLT (4-door, 4WD, 4.0 V6) but it does not fit. Advance Auto Parts website says this is an exact fit for my vehicle. That is incorrect. Just an FYI for anyone else who was thinking of buying this part for the same vehicle.

The sensor for the rear wheels is located on the brake shoe backing plate if you have drum brakes on the rear. The front brake sensor is located next to the caliper. The same if you have rear disc brakes. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
