The revolutionary Monroe Quick-Strut unit is the first complete, ready-to-install replacement strut assembly available! Monroe Quick-Strut units include all the components required for strut replacement in a single, fully-assembled unit. They feature pre-assembled replacement bearing plate, upper and lower spring isolators, upper spring seat, coil spring, boot kit, and a premium strut. This breakthrough design saves on installation time by eliminating having to disassemble components and compress the coil spring prior to installation. Each Quick-Strut assembly features application-engineered valving to optimize each vehicle's unique ride and handling characteristics. Available for popular passenger car, light truck and SUV applications.

- Pre-Assembled Upper Strut Mount: OE-style bearings, SAE-grade nuts and bolts, Superior rubber-to-steel bonding, Plated steel for longer wear, All components manufactured to meet or exceed OE performance
- Bearing Plate: The new bearing plate helps ensure consistent, precise steering return by eliminating “memory steer.” Helps eliminate steering noises commonly associated with worn or corroded bearings. Also improves overall steering smoothness (if equipped - front only)
- Upper Spring Seat: Each new spring seat is engineered to complement the ride control characteristic of the corresponding premium Monroe strut and upper strut mount. The upper spring seat provides consistent performance without transmitting noise or vibration into the chassis. Also supports the vehicle’s weight and helps properly offset the spring in the strut tower.
- Coil Spring: Manufactured from high-quality U.S. steel, each coil spring is precisely calibrated to support the vehicle’s weight and help ensure correct ride height. Each spring is painted or powder-coated for excellent rust resistance
- Boot Kit: The durable strut boot protects the strut rod and seal from dirt and debris. The premium bumper prevents component damage when the suspension bottoms out

These strut assemblies, purchased here at Advance, were installed (in a 1995 Saturn wagon) professionally, at a local shop with a good reputation. The assemblies function well in regard to restoring the handling and ride. Over a 2 month period, though, both front assemblies have become irritatingly noisy: the top bushings squeal and groan loudly whenever the steering wheel is turned, with or without the car in motion. Spraying the plastic/rubber bushings with silicone helps, but only for a while. I doubt that the warranty will cover this, though perhaps I should make an effort to find out. Otherwise, these assemblies do what they are supposed to do, so I'd recommend them...after pointing out and demonstrating the noise factor, however.

Okay so I bought these struts based on the fact that they were easy to install. They are right they are called quick struts because they really are a piece of cake to put in. HOWEVER that does NOT deter from the fact that these struts are absolute 100% junk. you would think that a product from monroe would not be but it is. Ive been through 4 of them and they all squeak when the wheel is turned.Everything was installed correctly. They should be called quick squeaks. If you are thinking about buying these don't. Save yourself the headache and buy KYB's. Yes you'll have to assemble them but its worth it. I have already had to pay for 2 alignments because of these pieces of junk. DO NOT BUY THEM!!!

Be careful. There was a product bulletin issued on the struts for my car. I purchased and installed the struts myself. I had the dealer align the front end. The struts started squeaking and making a moaning sound when turning. I contacted the manufacturer about the problem. They informed me that there was a product bulletin issued on the my struts and that they should have been return to the manufacturer and not sold to customers.[...] I had to pay for a second alignment. I will seek reimbursement from Advance Auto for the second alignment. Do yourself a favor and check with the manufacturer for a product bulletin before installing this product. I wish I did.

Took about 5 minutes to install after the wheel was off. Everything was included that you might need. The ride is nice. I will plan on using these in the future just because of the ease of installation and it avoids the need to compress/decompress the spring.

Q:
A few questions:
1) What is the warranty on this product?
2) Since it is an "assembly" that is being purchased, is the assembly replaced if there is a warranty claim or is the defective sub-part replaced under a warranty claim?
3) What Monroe strut cartridge is used in this assembly?
4) Lots of customer feedback that there are problems with the strut bearing quality. Has that problem been addressed? If so, what is the serial range of product that included the defective strut bearings?
I only want to do this work once. Strut cartridges and bearings are pretty easy to install. This is a cool time saver but it looks like the quality of parts suffered in the process. I'd rather do the assembly myself with quality parts if Monroe used some of their lessor quality parts in creating this product.Asked on 2/10/2013 by 510man1 answer

This part Monroe Quick-Strut Complete Strut Assembly, Part No. 171924 has limited lifetime replacement as warranty. This warranty is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase or any longer warranty period that may be printed on your original sales receipt. In addition, you must be the original purchaser of the part and still own the vehicle on which it was installed. This warranty cannot be transferred to anyone at any time. Replacement parts are warranted for 90 days from the date of exchange or the remainder of the warranty period, whichever is longer. Warranty periods may vary from part to part. The strut cartridge for this part should be Monroe part no. 71924 (Sensa-Trac Strut).
