Comments about Walker Catalytic Converter - ULTRA Direct Fit:

Perfect fit in my 99 Saturn SL2 (when also replacing the downpipe.) Has an O2 bung in the rear for your downstream sensor. Rear flange is not welded and can be rotated after converter is hung making for an easy install. No more "moon rocks" bouncing around in my cat!

Comments about Walker Catalytic Converter - ULTRA Direct Fit:

I had problems finding a complete converter with downpipe for my 1999 saturn dohc with fed. emissions. I ordered two Easterns and a magnaflow. I ended up re-using my stock downpipe and this walker cat. This fits just like oem. Just measure twice, before you cut your old cat off.

Comments about Walker Catalytic Converter - ULTRA Direct Fit:

The inlet pipe is the same diameter as the existing pipe. They recommend using a coupler. Forget about it. Too difficult to get the correct length when installing that way. Go to muffler shop and get the inlet pipe expanded to fit the existing pipe inside. Then cut your old cat off at the wire hanger. Then put together loose, and tighten clamp when both cat is bolted on at the rear and downpipe is put back on. This way you will get the length exactly.

                  • Q:

I need to replace the catalytic converter on my 1994 Saturn SL2 4 door sedan, 1.9 engine. I plan to order the Walker DIRECT REPLACEMENT catalytic converter from you but do not know if I need to also order the Walker "front" flex pipe #52166. My Saturn's VIN is 1G8ZK557XR190705. What are the options I have in replacing the catalytic converter.
Asked on 6/4/2010 by Harold from Smithfield, Maine

                    • CUSTOMER CARE

                      A:

Unless the front flex is damaged or rusted on your vehicle right now, all you should need is the catalytic converter and the flange seal/gasket for the opposite end. The shop you take it to, should be able to cut the one end off, leaving enough metal to use to weld the new converter in place.
