The factory used some of these that had a fiber housing.They are notorious for soaking through with antifreze and going bad.Especially on the SL series cars.

            This is the coolant temperature sensor not the intake air temperature sensor. The location depends on the vehicle that you have.

            Both of yous are WRONG! that is a g,m,style intake air temp sensor
            or IAT sensor found inside the air cleaner housing or ducting to throttle body.
