Comments about GMB New Water Pump:
I usually check the part numbers. I've had a few times they were close, but not the same. Check your part # before leaving the store. Not a complaint, but when you have to drive 40 miles to get the correct part its a P.I.T.A.

Once you get fan shroud off the radiator you have to take the fan clutch assy off the water pump do not take the belt off if you can help it it helps in getting the fan clutch off the pump you may need to lock the water pump pully with vice grips brake the fan clutch loose with a wrench remove fan clutch assy and 6 bolts later the pump is off. Clean area where pump goe on put gasket in new pump put back on engine put belt on pump then put fan clutch assy back on water pump tighten with wrench put fan shrould back on radiator your done. Took me about 1 hour to do the job

Comments about GMB New Water Pump:
Mopar designed the gasket system of this pump to be an easy, leak free replacement. No RTV or sealer needed! The directions given in another review were pretty spot on for my 05' Durango. Counter person rented me an A/C clutch removal set, not a water pump fan removal tool. Make sure you get the right one because removing the fan clutch is the hardest part of the job!! Ended up having to make a tool out of a piece of steel and two bolts. I lost about 2 gallons of coolant during replacement. DO NOT refill your antifreeze with anything other than the Mopar antifreeze from the dealership or Valvoline Zerex G-05. The vehicle manual and a google search will explain why (hint: HOAT).

This thing took a gasket better than the other water pump I put in my Durango a few years ago. I almost thought about not using silicone seal (almost..)

It is very easy to order anything online from Advance Auto Parts. Product descriptions are detailed enough to ensure that you're getting the right part. The 20% off was a great promo. Can't think of a reason to go anywhere else.

Comments about GMB New Water Pump:
This is a perfect fit replacement for the one that went bad. There are many options available as far as quality and price points are concerned, but when all considerations are taken into account, the one point that made this one the best choice was the lifetime guarantee. All others had significantly shorter guarantees (usually 6 months. to 1 year.) The real chart topper however was the price. Advance Auto has the best price for this EXACT part - others were almost twice as expensive!! So, this purchase was a "no-brainer" for me!

What would cause my water pump to keep going out. I have a 2004 Dodge Ram with a 4.7 engine. I have replaced the pump three times within a month and the bearings keep going out. I have replaced the fan clutch already. The pumps are from a different store; however, they are not helpful at all!1 answer

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
my belt was slipping and then water came from the water pump and the power steering went out. do i need to replace the water pump and the belt, or jus the belt?2 answers
VERIFIED BUYER
A:
I would change both because the pump leaked and the coolant that got on the belt will ruin the belt.CUSTOMER CARE
A:
You may need to replace both. Without being able to be there with your vehicle, we are unable to properly diagnose what is wrong with your vehicle.Q:
What causes my truck to leak liquid from front of engine after it has been driven and water pressure builds up in engine? It will not start leaking untill a day later and doesn't leak a great deal. It has no leaks in radiator or hoses. This has me scratching my head!! A friend said it sounds like a cold water leak. Is there a possibility that the water pump has a crack in it?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It could be possible that there is a crack in the water pump, also there are many other spots where the liquid might leak from, say the thermostat or a bolt depending on what type of vehicle you drive. I would recommend taking it in to a reputable mechanics shop to have them take a look at it so that you can make sure you are replacing the correct part and also make sure that it is not another issue altogether.
