The revolutionary Monroe Quick-Strut unit is the first complete, ready-to-install replacement strut assembly available! Monroe Quick-Strut units include all the components required for strut replacement in a single, fully-assembled unit. They feature pre-assembled replacement bearing plate, upper and lower spring isolators, upper spring seat, coil spring, boot kit, and a premium strut. This breakthrough design saves on installation time by eliminating having to disassemble components and compress the coil spring prior to installation. Each Quick-Strut assembly features application-engineered valving to optimize each vehicle's unique ride and handling characteristics. Available for popular passenger car, light truck and SUV applications.

Product Features:
  • Pre-Assembled Upper Strut Mount: OE-style bearings, SAE-grade nuts and bolts, Superior rubber-to-steel bonding, Plated steel for longer wear, All components manufactured to meet or exceed OE performance
  • Bearing Plate: The new bearing plate helps ensure consistent, precise steering return by eliminating “memory steer.” Helps eliminate steering noises commonly associated with worn or corroded bearings. Also improves overall steering smoothness (if equipped - front only)
  • Upper Spring Seat: Each new spring seat is engineered to complement the ride control characteristic of the corresponding premium Monroe strut and upper strut mount. The upper spring seat provides consistent performance without transmitting noise or vibration into the chassis. Also supports the vehicle’s weight and helps properly offset the spring in the strut tower.
  • Coil Spring: Manufactured from high-quality U.S. steel, each coil spring is precisely calibrated to support the vehicle’s weight and help ensure correct ride height. Each spring is painted or powder-coated for excellent rust resistance
  • Boot Kit: The durable strut boot protects the strut rod and seal from dirt and debris. The premium bumper prevents component damage when the suspension bottoms out
  • Spring Isolators: Prevents metal to metal contact and helps eliminate noise between the spring and spring seat
  • Premium Strut: Premium strut technology based on application. Each strut features application-engineered valving to complement each vehicle's unique ride and handling characteristics

    Quick struts

Faster, safer, wish it came with new hardware,
Nicer than putting all the pieces together yourself. You get new springs, not just a shock change.

Be sure to use a torque wrench to tighten the upper plate in engine compartment. Anything more and your asking to break these three bolts off. Other than that bit of caution they are a very easy fix to a big problem and an equal time saver. We all know time is $money$

Makes changing struts safer. After reading many Taurus/Sable owners experiencing rear coil spring failures replacing the strut and coil spring at the same time with these quality units makes good sense.
Ride height is restored; road feel is firm but not harsh. Get the AK50 bolts for Taurus/Sable because if you are able to get the old bolts out w/o breaking them the bolt threads will be damaged and shouldn't be reused.
I also used a promo code for an awesome deal!

Do you need a compressor of any kind to install this part, or is it remove bolts and replace?

Good answer by E. One hint though, I had a problem sliding the pinch clamp off near the bottom of the strut.
What occurs is the angle is extreme when the control arm is swung down on the strut.
Simply take the 3 bolts off the top and pull down below and swing
it out to line up with the clamp, push the brake drum down
and hammer up the strut ear and down on the clamp.
Also use a torque wrench and a lot of jack stands.
Figure about 1-1/2 to 2 hours each side.

No you don't need a compressor its a quick swap out.
Remove the small bolt, the long bolt, and the big bolt, and you should be able to slide the clamp down the strut tube far enough to clear the end. Then remove the three nuts from the top and pull out the old strut. Installation is the reverse.
The bolts are located under the rear deck (where the rear speakers are located) inside the car. First start by opening the fold down rear seats. There you will find 4 bolts holding the rear seat back. Remove them. Pull the seat back forward and lay
it down on the rear seat. Next remove the rear deck. There are 2 plastic push-in clips that hold the rear deck. They located toward the front. Pull them out. Now the rear deck can be removed by sliding forward towards the front of the car. Under the rear deck is insulation which can be lifted out. Under the insulation are the bolts for each strut. Remove these bolts and the strut can be pulled out.
