Comments about Driveworks Remanufactured Water Pump:
Took more work to get the old one out than getting the new one in. But, it's done and seems to be holding up just fine, so far.

Q:
I have 2002 dodge caravan with a bad water pump. It seems to be very tight in the engine compartment. does the water pump replacement require for the engine to be lifted?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Instructions to replace the water pump: First you loosen, but not remove the pulley bolts and then remove your belt. Next you will have to remove the pulley bolts, rotate the pulley and let it fall down in between the pump body and the pump hub. Next remove the water pump bolts. You will have to work around the pump pulley which makes it a bit difficult, but not impossible. Then, remove the water pump with the pulley still hanging from the shaft. There is not enough clearance to remove the pulley separately, it must be removed with the pump. Clean the mating surface where the seal mates with the engine, install the new seal onto the new pump (use just a little bit of gasket sealant to hold the seal in place if needed, but don't go crazy with it). Put the pulley onto the new pump, but let it hang from the shaft. Install the new pump bolts and reposition the pulley back onto the end of the pump, install the pulley bolts. Install the belt and tighten the pulley bolts. do i have to lift the engine to change the waterpump?3 answers
A:
There is a slot in the pulley that the allows the pump to collapse to pass the frame. Loosen the pulley bolts before removing the belt. Take out the bolts in the housing and then the bolts in the pulley. So no lifting is required. At most the engine may need to be pried back about an 1/8" to pass the frame using say a wood 2x4 on the Harmonic balancer. This will not hurt the Engine Mounts. This is how I have done it.A:
The Hayes manual never mentions having to lift the engine, but as I found out, it's not possible to remove the pully and pump without lifting it. I used a floor jack with a piece of wood for protection. I got the jack just firm under the engine, unbolted the motor mount, and then raised the engine about a half inch, which is all the clearance you'll need.CUSTOMER CARE

I would recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual for your vehicle. This will have many of the locations of parts needed for a variety of repairs.
