            Comments about Driveworks Ball Joint:

This ball joint was a pain to install and didn't fit right at all. I had problems with the splines on the outside fitting even close to the hole size on my truck. Tried everything to get it in finally after 1 hr of fighting with it. The part went in but still doesn't fit right. Its like you have to have a special tool to install it. The next time I have to install a ball joint in my truck I will look closer at my part and the part I am buying. And if possible might just be cheaper to buy the whole control arm ball joint assembly. Would possibly save the aggravation of install.

            Comments about Driveworks Ball Joint:

This is the worst engineered product that I have ever purchased from Advanced Auto Parts. I bought 2 Driveworks lower ball joints and proceeded to install them but when I got to the first one I couldn't get the rubber dust cover to go on to the ball joint. So I call the store and the guy told me that once you attach the steering knuckle it will press itself on. No it didn't. So went back up to the store and none of the ball joint come with the dust cover pressed on. Long story short spent the $50 more for the Moog.

              Comments about Driveworks Ball Joint:

It takes a couple of hours to change all the ball joints out so be prepared to get greasy. You will need to rent (free after return) two tool kits to do this job from Advance Auto Parts. Get both the ball joint press kit AND the ball joint seperator kit. I found a U-tube video on-line that helped me so much just by typing in "2002 Dodge Ram 1500 ball joint replacement". I saved a bunch of money too by doing it myself. It took my death shake away and now my 'ol truck rides nice and smooth once again. It is recommended that you get a front end alignment after completing this job as you will probably be replacing the upper control arms/ball joints at the same time. I marked the position of the mounting olts on the upper control arms with spray paint from a rattle can and my alignment was not off by much after the replacement. :>) Good luck

              Comments about Driveworks Ball Joint:

I ordered this part and picked it up, then installed it. I then couldn't get the steering knuckle to fit back on. So I spent 2 weeks trying to figure out what I had done wrong and it turns out I had ordered the right part, but who ever pulled my order can't tell the difference between a 1 or a 0 so I spent 2 weeks without transportation because of someone's dumb mistake. All I was told is "the part # is the first thing you should check". If that's the case then why are the parts behind the counter. Also this isn't the first mistake I've had with them I also bought a power steering pump and it was bad and I was told to drive for 3-4 days with it and eventually it would work and basically they refused to change it. So I called Auto Zone and they replaced it for free. I still haven't received and apology of any type and when I went to the chat room to file a complaint I was cut off and told to check my part # next time which isn't possible really if you didn't order online.

                  A:

With reference to your inquiry on the Driveworks Ball Joint - Part No. DW-K7411, it is not necessary to both the ball joint instead of right lower ball joint. However, we would always recommended to replace both of them for long lasting dependability and performance. For any further assistance, please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
