These lamps are the brightest I've used in any car, and I like them a lot. Other reviewers complained about the short life of these bulbs. I wasn't happy that the low beam on one lamp quit after about 18 months. However, the package clearly indicates that the life span of this product is significantly less than that of other, less bright bulbs. I'm a frequent night driver, and for me, the performance is such that I'm willing to change the lamp more often for the sake of a brighter light. Folks who aren't happy with the short life might want to consider a product with better longevity and a bit less performance. In a perfect world, these lamps would last a lot longer, but I'm willing to deal with the tradeoff.

Both low beams went out in 9 months. :(
These head lights were very bright untill the low beams quite working in 9 months. Wish they would have lasted, 10 times brighter then old ones. Good thing I saved the original one though...Read complete review

These lamps did not last one year. Both low beams burned out less than a week apart. Would not purchase again.

Comments about Sylvania SilverStar ULTRA TWIN Halogen Headlight:
The passenger side headlight in my 2000 Honda Odyssey finally died (after 12 years), so I bought the Sylvania lights (seems to be all that is carried in stores). I was going to replace both at once, but haven't had a chance to yank stuff out on the driver's side to get to the other bulb. Honda made it simple to exchange headlights; almost too simple. It was so easy, I thought I was forgetting to do something. I'm not too crazy about Sylvania only offering a 1-year warranty on their bulbs (after all, the stock product has lasted for 12 years - why can't Sylvania make their warranty longer?). Anyway, so far, so good.

how do you replace this bulb??3 answers

A:
It all depends on your vehicle. My Toyota required the removal of a rubber boot, an electrical connector and undoing a retaining latch. That took about 5 minutes total for both lights.A:
Check the owner's manual for your car, which should have specific instructions. Generally, one pulls the plug that's attached to the existing bulb to remove it. Depending on the vehicle, you may have to remove a retaining spring and/or a rubber or plastic boot. Insert the new bulb, re-connect any springs and/or boots, and re-attach the plug to the prongs on the bulb. Make sure you don't touch the glass on the bulb with your fingers, as the oils from your hands will decrease the life of the product. I usually unplug everything with my bare hands, and then put on a pair of latex gloves to handle and install the new bulbs.A:
Bulb was normal push in I believe I did have to remove plastic lens with a couple of screws on a 97 RAV4
