There are too many bad reviews by uneducated buyers. This product is a Lund. It is also a highland. This is because in 2011 highlander properties bought the Lund company, and is slowly transforming the product line. They are one and the same.

This is a great product, if used as advertised. 500 pounds spread over the entire surface max...this doesn't mean a single pressure point can withstand 200 pounds. You have to be realistic. I use it for my families luggage on trips. And it is very easy to put together...all you need is an 11 and 14 mm socket and wrench.

The only odd thing is that highland put their name on it, but did not update the picture on the packaging. The packaging still shows a Lund license plate in the picture, extra support brackets and thin joiner plates. The actual product has been upgraded to have very beefy joiner plates that are big enough and strong enough to take the place of the extra support brackets. It's a nice change.

Good for the price. Who knows how long it will last but good so far. When putting it together a bolt got stuck and we had to cut it off and use one we already had. Besides that, we used it on a road trip and it did its job.

Does not fit in a standard 2" receiver made from a structural steel square tube. This product is made of heavy sheet metal with bent square corners.

I purchased the Lund cargo rack, online for the sale price, for its name and durability. When I went to Advance Auto Parts they gave me a totally different product for the same price. The new product was not the same quality and durability. But I was in need of the carrier so I purchased it anyways. When I got home I called [@] and they had the exact same product for $30 cheaper. When I went back to Advance Auto Parts they would not price match and said I could only return the product or keep it for the higher price. Thought it was poor customer service. I returned the product. Beware of the item switch game.

With the bag, use it for road trips with kids in Honda Pilot. Keeps luggage out of car and out of the way without the hassle or cost of hard roof-top cargo box and its easily removable, unlike more expensive cargo boxes.

bought this rack for a family trip to load a lil mini bike on it an upon strapping it down it twisted and racked the frame of the cargo carrier. its very flimsy i guess you get what you pay for.
