Comments about National Oil Seal:
Seems like a good OE replacement. Didn't use races as they were already installed in my new rotor.

Comments about National Oil Seal:
The name for this item needs fixed, as others have pointed out. It is an A-5 bearing and includes the outer race (red part of the cutaway picture).
Each came sealed in plastic in a box.
I used these while replacing all the front pads, rotor-hubs, bearings, and seals on a 1997 Ford Explorer (RWD). The A-5 bearings matched up with the dimensions on the old ones. Packing these bearings by hand was easy. The new rotor-hubs had races already installed, so I didn't need the ones that came with these bearings.
Only four stars because the item name on the site needs fixing.
Comments about National Oil Seal:
This is not a seal, you get a bearing instead. Why hasn't this error been fixed yet?

Comments about National Oil Seal:
This is not a seal. This part is the outer bearing. It is labeled incorrectly. Even in the customer service reps computers it is labeled as a seal. It is nothing of the sort. Tried to contact main management about it. They insist it is a seal. Pick up the box and open it. See for yourself.

Comments about National Oil Seal:
Part is listed as a seal, but was a bearing assy when i went to pick it up. I have had bad parts on 4 different times from your store. I am no longer a customer because it has cost me about $400.00 in the last 4 months to redo repairs due to bad parts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Q:
I would first like to point out as other customers already have that this is not an oil seal, but a wheel bearing. I am currently working on the 7.5" rear end of a 1999 Ford mustang V6. Your site lists this bearing National Wheel Bearing A-5 along with National Wheel Bearing A-6, Driveworks Taper Bearing Set S-A-5 and Driveworks Taper Bearing Set S-A-6 as differential carrier bearings. Are any of these actually the bearing I need for the differential carrier, or is the only way to get the bearing in one of the differential kits?1 answer

The Haynes manual says that the hub and bearing are replaced as a unit, yet you are listing individual bearings for the "wheel bearing - front" application for my 2002 Ford Mustang. I believe the previous question was a valid one that went unanswered by you. Obviously, if the repair manual is stating that the hub/bearing is replaced as a unit, they would tell you NOTHING about how the bearings are installed in the hub. Since you are selling the bearings individually, it would be helpful if you could give some information on the specific application for the bearings if not also information on how to install them in the hub. I realize that you are trying to sell service manuals also, but I already bought one, and it isn't helpful on this matter.1 answer

A:
The previous question's answer is - Yes, you will have to remove the old seal and place a new one. You can softly hammer the seal to fit perfectly. Wheel bearing & Hub - The usual signs of worn wheel bearings are rumbling noises coming from the wheels. If the failure is confined to the bearings themselves, you can replace just the bearings and outer race. Or, if the only problem is an oil leak with no play, grinding, squeaking or other problems coming from the hub, you can just replace the axle seal. Though you can replace the parts individually, you can also replace the Hub and wheel bearing at the same time as per requirement.Q:
Do you press off the old bearing and press on the new one1 answer

For help with your project, I recommend getting a repair manual specifically for your vehicle. It should be able to help you with detailed instructions on how to do many things.
