Comments about National Oil Seal:
The most time consuming part was pulling the old seal out of the rear axle of my 2000 Crown Vic (make sure you have a slide hammer with the axle bearing puller attachment). Once the old one was out the new one popped right back in.
It seals well. I haven't had any problems yet at 5,000 miles.

I have a 2000 Ford Mustang base model. I recently noticed the right rear side of the axle leaking oil where the axle meets the rear differential. It has not been leaking like alot or anything but the axle does squeek now if I hit bumps. I believe this seal is what I need, but Im not sure. Also, I heard it is a good idea to change the axle seal bearing as well. Can you let me know what axle seal and bearing I need for my car? and if this is all I need to fix the problem? Thank you1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
It does sound like the seal is bad. This is the seal you would need. The axle bearing is inside of the differential. Is that the bearing that you are wanting to replace?Q:
is this the seal that goes where the driveshaft yoke goes into the rear end? or is it called the spindle?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
This does appear to be the type of seal that goes where the driveshaft yoke goes into the rear end, but to be sure, please provide the year, make, model and engine size of your vehicle.
