Q:
Where do I pour it in at on a 2002 Ford Focus?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
With reference to your inquiry on the Interdynamics R-134a PAG 150 Refrigerant Oil (8 oz.) - part# GPH-6, on your AC system hoses you will see two screw-on plastic caps. One red and one blue. The blue is the low (service) side and the hose attached to the can will only fit the low side. Remove the blue cap, snap the hose onto the fitting and turn on the AC to MAX. Start the engine and introduce the 134a. The system will only take the amount it needs. By the way, the part where you connect the hose(s) is right in front of the passenger tire, behind the tire well, remove the hex screw and you will see a round can with a cap on top of it. THIS IS WHERE YOU ADD REFRIGERANT TO THE SYSTEM. However, it is advised that a Section 609 of EPA Standards mechanic be the only one to perform anything with that type of system [r12] as well as r134a due to its effects on the environment. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified A/C mechanic for a proper diagnosis. R134a systems do ask for PAG oil. Some people use ester oil when they do a retrofit on their A/C system. You will have to buy new R134a O-rings.
