Started having noises from the pulley area of the engine. They continued to get louder and a pain in the shorts. Decided to replace the idler pulley and it helped, but the other one was making noise to. I replaced both of them and it is quiet again. Easy repair in general, but tight place to work. I also replaced the belt while doing the job since it is all in the same direct area. Do a job right once & your DONE!!!

Don't know where the "answer man" came up with no for an answer but YES, most definately. You have to replace the belt "spring tensioner" with same as you have on vehicle but you can interchange the tensioner "pulley" that's on it,, to a bigger size tho. GM has problems with the tensioner spring losing torque after only a few thousand miles, especially on the super charged engines, then the belt starts chirping and wear grooves on out side of belt, (flat side), from slipping. To remedy that, replace the pulley on spring tensioner with pulley that is 1/2 inch bigger. That only gives you 1/4 inch more from center most point but that puts enough/more torque on belt to prevent the belt from chirping and wearing out more pre-maturely from slippage.
