Comments about Advance Auto Parts ATF+4® Automatic Transmission Fluid (1 qt.):
I own a 2003 Dodge Dakota and change the trans. fluid and filter every 30k miles. I used to use Castrol ATF+4. The last few changes I have been using this. It works great! There is no difference in shifting or performance. I have 147500 on the truck now and the trans. works perfect. Save your self some money!

Why pay for OEM fluid when this does the trick? With on-line promo codes this was very affordable, and my durango is driving and shifting great.

how do i add trans fluid to a 2002 dodge stratus?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
With reference to your inquiry on the Advance Auto Parts ATF+4® Automatic Transmission Fluid (1 qt.) -part# A104, open the hood and locate the transmission fluid dipstick. It is the T-shaped handle near the brake reservoir and is marked "Trans-Fluid." Remove the dipstick from its tube. Ensure the fluid level reaches at least to the "Add" mark. If not, insert the funnel into the tube and add fluid, checking frequently to prevent overfilling, until it reaches the "Add" mark. Replace the dipstick. Apply the parking brake and depress the brake pedal. Start the car and shift the gear selector into the "Reverse" position. Wait a few seconds and move the selector to the "Neutral" position. Continue until you have cycled through each gear position and return the selector to "Park." Turn off the engine. Remove the dipstick and check the fluid level. Unless you have recently driven the car, it should be between the two dots next to the "Cold" mark. If not, add fluid. Continue until the level reaches the correct mark. If you cannot comfortably touch the dipstick, use the "Hot" indicator mark. For any further assistance, please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.Q:
How many quartes is required to change tranmission filter4 answers
VERIFIED BUYER
A:
add 2 initially. add more after starting .and wait for pump to draw it in ,or u will register full by mistake . i had to add 1.5 more qts. but it was leaking to begin with so bear that in mindVERIFIED BUYER
A:
Depends on the transmission but normally only 4 quarts are needed when you just do a filter change. With a filter change though you are not getting rid of all the old fluid, only about 1/2 of the fluid comes out when you drop the trans fluid pan to change the filter the rest is still in the trans and in the torque converter. I usually do a complete change, then the next time a filter change, next time a complete change, etc. Check your service manual to find out the fluid capacity of your transmission. Always dispose of the old fluid properly. I recycle mine at my local parts store along with my used motor oil.CUSTOMER CARE
