Comments about Factory Air Switch:

Installed in my 99 GMC Jimmy 4.3 without having to remove the compressor. Perfect fit! The switch comes with a replacement "O" ring and retaining clip. Just removed the old switch, cleaned the bore and snapped the new one into place. No more compressor leak!

      Comments about Factory Air Switch:

I went to replace this swtich the same time I was replacing my compressor on my 98 gmc k1500. The new switch simply would not go in far enough to get the snap ring seated in the groove (but very close). I had to reuse the switch from the old compressor witch slid right in and the snap ring seated in the groove just like it should.

Yes, this might be. In order to check the exact fit application, please provide the year, make, model and engine size of the vehicle.

        • A:

Yes,this is the high pressure cut out switch, sealed by an o-ring in the compressor bore, and secured by a snap ring. If the high pressure side of the system exceed a safe limit, this switch de-energizes the clutch and diaengages the compressor.

      • Q:

What do the factory air switch do?

        • CUSTOMER CARE

          A:

The cut off switch should cause the compressor to disengage before any of the A/C system pressure relief valves cause the refrigerant charge to be released.
