My son and I replace the radiator on his 2001 Dodge Durango. Although the radiator was difficult to remove and replace, due to the position of the mounting screws, hoses and haardware in the way, etc., the replacement of the thermostat seemed to make sense, since we had the whole cooling system apart. The thermostat was easy to replace and held tight when we re-connected the hoses. No leaks when we filled the system and did a test run. We ran the heat and the air conditioning and the hot water gauge stayed right in the miiddle of the normal range. After driving 400 miles back to North Carolina, he re-checked for leaks and the thermostat held tight. We were very pleased with the online ordering process as well. The part was waiting for us when we arrived at the store. Thank you for a good product.

OEM has tabs goes in one way. The stant replacement stat part#14369 does not. It was difficult to install and housing would not sit flush against surface. Will not buy any other stant product again due to poor manufacturing and cost.

This part does not fit my 2002 jeep liberty.
The part doesn't even look like the picture.
The gasket is too big and you have to force it.
I returned mine and what a waste of time.
              Also the people were rude.
There were 5 people working in the store talking to each other and nobody would ask me if I needed help.

This is a typical universal fit automotive part. It'll work in a lot of applications, but won't fit any. If you install this in the Dodge 4.7L, be very careful of the ball check placement. Dodge keyed the OEM one and gasket manufacturers did the same for a reason. It works well, as I have come to expect from Stant, but not if it airlocks.

It does not fit right. The diameter and thickness are too big, just like the other review stated. You could probably force it to work but why take a chance.

Very poorly made. Compared to the original, poor quality materials; the outer seal
was about.080 in thickness too big, causing the outer housing to deform was would eventually
cause an on the road break down, even engine damage.

Open draincock on the radiator on your to drain the coolant from your Jeep Grand Cherokee. This draincock is located on the lower right side facing the rear of your Cherokee. Use a sealable container and reuse the coolant if it is relatively new and clean. Follow the upper radiator hose to the point where it meets the thermostat housing. The thermostat is located inside the housing. For any further assistance, you may also visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.

The thermostat may be the possible cause of the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

You want to replace the thermostat when it stops opening. You will be able to tell it is going bad when the temperature gets real high and then drops in seconds. That means that your thermostat did not open enough and it should be replaced.

The thermostat on your  2004 Dodge Ram 1500 should be located in the LOWER radiator hose. It is mounted in a plastic housing attached to the front of the engine where the lower radiator hose attaches to the engine.

The thermostat is located at the bottom of the motor, on passengers side. There are two hoses that run from the radiator, one on top (which does not lead to the thermostat) and one on bottom, about 3inches in diameter. Two 1/2 inch bolts holds the housing around the thermostat.

If you look down on the radiator, on the left side, there is a large hose coming out of the radiator toward the engine. Where the hose ends there is housing with 2 bolts. The Thermostat is found under that.

Any liquid-cooled car engine has a small device called the thermostat that sits between the engine and the radiator. The thermostat in most cars is about 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter.

I've not taken the stat housing off the Liberty. The STANT model that I have doesn't have a paper gasket. Is this normal?
                                Thanks. MIKE
