Knowing your coolant temperature can help to prevent burn injuries. Thermo Cap, with its built-in calibrated thermometer, indicates the coolant temperature. This is useful information prior to cap removal. Never attempt to remove Thermo Cap when the coolant temperature is very hot. The escaping hot coolant and steam may burn you. Check the Thermo Cap temperature indicator to determine if the coolant is cool enough to make removing Thermo Cap safe. If the coolant is very hot, then thoroughly rinse the radiator with cool water, until the coolant temperature drops into a cooler safe zone Thermo Cap's integrated coolant reclamation valve works great with your coolant recovery system. Your radiator can reclaim coolant from your overflow bottle. Wide 30 degree to 270 degree Fahrenheit temperature range. Calibrated in centigrade and Fahrenheit. Color-coded temperature ranges. Chromed crown with a colored trim ring. Indicates coolant temperature, Helps to prevent coolant injuries, integrated coolant reclamation valve, Improves under hood appearance, Fits most domestic or import vehicles and various valve pressures available.

Comments about Mr. Gasket Thermo Cap:

This has been a great product. It gives a general idea of water temp.I installed a 180 degree stat in my 1986 Mustant GT.Car has 314,000 Miles. Car is completely stock. This cap reads fairly correct
right at 180 with this thermostat.Must remember,
this is not for a 100% correct reading but to give
you a general idea of where your temp is at. Want a 100% accurate range, get a thermal gun.Who cares
if it looks cool! Looking cool doesn't info you of
on how cool your temp is!

Comments about Mr. Gasket Thermo Cap:

I thought this would be a good idea, so I dropped the $20+ for it.I installed it, and noticed it only got up to maybe 120-degrees, and I had just installed a 180-degree thermostat. The problem is that this thing only measures the temp in the radiator, directly below the cap, which is way different than measuring it at the water neck. This is being returned, and in my opinion, is a waste of $20. Save yourself the cash, and just get a normal cap.

Comments about Mr. Gasket Thermo Cap:

I installed this radiator cap on my 99 Chrysler 300M. This radiator cap does not leak like other reviewers have mentioned. A friend of mine is running this same radiator cap on his 99 Chrysler 300M for 2 years now without any difficultly. Had to put a little elbow grease to get the Radiator to go on. It looks cool and adds a little style to ones ride. The nice thing is unlike the factory radiator cap is that one can read to see what the temperature is.

No, this is just a special radiator cap that can tell you how hot the coolant is while it is installed.

No this is not a thermostat. This is Easy-to-read temperature gauge in Celsius and Fahrenheit protects you and your loved ones from the severe injuries that can occur if a radiator cap is removed too soon. This product is a "Radiator Cap" not a thermostat.

                • A:

You do NOT need silicone or any type of sealant for radiator cap. It has it's own gasket inside the cap and is OEM fit, with the exception of having a temp gauge that reads you coolant temperature. Only flaw to running this cap is it will NOT show correct temperature if coolant in radiator is below the required level. I recommend just replacing you radiator cap with at least a 15# pressure cap with pressure relief lever. If you want a gauge to see your engine temperature you can buy a sensor to install in you engine block and a gauge to mount in/under your dash. You can see your engine temperature at all times and know when it is wanting to run too hot before it over heats and possible damage your engine.....
