fits the 2011 Malibu, no seal included
As a filter cartridge, this is lightweight and takes up less space in a landfill. The Purolator equivalent is better, it comes with a replacement seal for the cap.

I own over 2000 automotive hand tools including 5 different oil filter wrenches. None fits the cap for this oil filter (studpid GM!) I had to use a small handle channel lock wrench to remove the cap

Comments about ACDelco Oil Filter:
I use this filter as it is the original equipment filter for my 2010 Malibu with 2.4l engine. Never an issue with collapse of the filter media. I would recommend to anyone with the 2.4l GM motor.

Comments about ACDelco Oil Filter:
I used other brands and they collapsed and caused the oil light to come on. This will NOT cause any problems so use it, plus it cost less than the off brands. Use only original AC Delco filters on any Ecotech!

Comments about ACDelco Oil Filter:
The AC Delco cartridge filter is the oil one that I have used that actually fits correctly. Make sure to ge the Hengst filter that is made in the USA. It's the original and is guaranteed on GM vehicles until 500 miles past 0% on the OLM.
This filter will not fail when others do, especially long oil change intervals! Very inexpensive for the quality, plus made in USA!

Q:
is this GM #12605566 and made in USA by Hengst?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Advance Auto Parts does sell Made in the USA products as well as products manufactured from many other countries in order to keep our pricing competitive. Please also keep in mind that many suppliers have multiple manufacturing plants that could result in different countries of origin for the same part.Q:
does this come with a cover oring2 answers
A:
NO. As stated in the description, this is the FILTER ONLY. This filter does NOT come with the oil filter canister top cover O-ring. You must re-use your old cover O-ring with this AC DELCO brand oil filter. Typically it is not a problem if you are careful and you don't damage the old O-ring. Honestly, it takes a special kind of stupid to mess up the existing O-ring in the filter housing cover - but I suppose some people can screw up almost anything.CUSTOMER CARE

oil filter location2 answers
VERIFIED BUYER
A:
Atop engine, drivers side, closer towards the windshield. I bought a special filter cartridge wrench attachment for my 3/8ths ratchet with extension bar use. The filter canister goes in bottom UP. Yes, the canister bottom is up in the air, and the filter sets therein. As such, all of the oil drains away before you get her out. It is a very unique location. Takes some good hand work. Be careful, everything around it is HOT, so let her cool down a little before going after the filter.CUSTOMER CARE
