Comments about Castrol Automatic Transmission Fluid Dexron-VI (1 qt.):
I changed my Transmission fluid/filter around the 67,000 mile mark. I used this to replace the origional fluid. So far so good. Noticed no difference and thats good cause it was perfect before. Nice knowing the fluid/filter has been changed. I will say i might pay to have this done next time. Changing your own transmission fluid is not easy unless you have a lift like an automotive shop does. Took more time than I care to spend. Also it is a mess cause there is no drain plug. I think I will just stick to doing my own oil changes and let a shop do this next time. But the fluid works great. Take Care.

How do you check the ATF level on a '06 pont. G6, there's no dip1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The 2006 Pontiac G6 comes with sealed automatic transmission. This will have a plug screwed into the front of the transmission near the coolant lines. It has an 11 mm [7/16] head. Unscrew it then check the level by finding if the fluid is to the hole. It's topped off by removing a cap on top of the transmission and adding fluid until it starts to run out the hole, with the engine off. For any further assistance, please visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.Q:
I have a 2008 grand prix with 41,000 miles how often do i need to change my transmission fluid?2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Different manufacturers recommend different intervals for changing the transmission fluid. Check your owner's manual for the mileage recommended between transmission fluid maintenance. Generally speaking, automatic transmission fluid should be checked once a month to head off any problems before they develop (the condition of the fluid can be visually observed on the dipstick--contaminated fluid will look dirty and smell burned).A:
50,000 miles is the recommended change interval for gm products unless you are towing alot with your vehicle and then it is 25,000 due to the wear on the viscosity of fluid and depleeting of the additives and both protect your transmission from damage. Thank You and hope this helpsQ:
