      A:

With reference to your inquiry on the BWD Neutral Safety Switch -part# S9147, on your Pontiac Firebird first you have to remove the center console by taking the two screws out under the change bar in the armrest, and pulling gently up, twist the led out of the gear shift slide area, disconnect the cigarette lighter plug, then if you look at the left side of the base of your shifter box there is a wide flat plug, that is your neutral start/backup light switch. For any further assistance, please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our Parts Pros will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
