        30MM x 55MM x 22MM A/C Clutch Bearing

        By El Cheapo

        from Detroit

        Comments about National Ball Bearing:

This is a standard A/C Clutch Bearing for Ford and other models. The listing didn't give me the size so I added it it the Headline 30 x 55 x 22mm this is the industry standard replacement. My original unit was a NSK 30BD400U and lasted 161K beefore starting to squeal. To change it remove the clutch front plate, remove the retaining snap ring hoding the pully assembly. Then gently tap the pulley from behind with a plastic mallet, gently. Finally press the bearing out of the pulley assembly and reinstall the new one. Stake the bearing assebly back in like the origional. Reassemble the clutch on the pump. Found it a bit cheaper elsewhere. Hope that helps...

            A:

No, you can very easily replace the bearing without any loss of Freon. However you will have to check with a professional if it is only the bearing which is to be replaced or the whole clutch assembly. For any further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

        • Q:

My 2000 Ford Ranger, V6 3.0 Cylinder is making a whining, noise, thought it might have been the water pump, but it wasnt. Is bearing considered also as the AC Bearing, because I have had several people tell me that they believe that the AC bearing is going out, and I just wanted to make sure of this product before purchasing!!

            A:

Yes, this part National Ball Bearing, Part No. 5106-WCC manufactured by National fits your 2000 Ford Ranger. The specification of the part: Ball Bearing; Bore=1.1811", Outer Diameter=2.1654", Width=0.9063". However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

            A:

It's most likely the ball bearings for the AC Compressor pulley. They are fairy easy to replace. Remove the drive belt, hold the clutch with a screwdriver or a clutch holding tool and remove the center bolt. Remove the clutch and then use a 3 jaw gear puller to remove the bearing. Installation is the reverse.
