This air filter was recommended to me from a automotive user group. I saw a couple mpg improvement when I added the first one from the one that came with my high mileage car. I failed to set a PM reminder and drove almost two years on it. I thought it had performed well, so I bought another one. The first one was quite filthy by the air intake but not so bad on the whole. I have not had enough tanks to notice whether I received another mileage boost. (so far, no) It was easy enough to install on my 98 Subaru Forester without tools though I did dirty my hands. I bought it at discount from the website and picked it up from a nearby store. Pleased.

How do you rate an air filter?There is no way I have to qualitatively evaluate this product. I have to TRUST the data supplied by testing companies to rate this product. My aim is engine protection from airborne grit & dirt. I experienced no change in fuel economy but I change once a year at about 7000 miles. Maximum clean air flow promotes maximum combustion efficiency that's why I bought this product. Hopefully I made the right decision.

For some reason, I needed help from Advanced Auto customer service to install -- they did it willingly and easily (much thanks, guys!), while I had struggled to close the lid over the filter. But, then again, I'm a bit of a klutz!
My Murano is now running easier and making greatly improved mpg (the old filter was dirty).
