    Comments about BWD Relay:

Biggest problem I had was getting the old relay off the mounting rail in the 1991 Cougar. New one snapped into place, plugged up, and now we have ABS brakes again (this unit replaced a failed ABS pump motor relay.) Only con - and being a universal replacement I understand why! - is that this relay isn't brown, like the old ABS relay was (to help identify it in the cluster of relays it's in.) So I wrapped some brown electrical tape around it to help identify it in six months or so.

        A:

With reference to your inquiry on the BWD Relay - part# R647, the transmission control solenoid and or even the relay may be the possible cause for the problem on your Ford Escort. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis of what amp alternator you have before installing any alternator which would not be the required one for your vehicle. For any further assistance, you may also visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.

where is this relay found on 92 ford ranger?? also is this the right relay for the headlights???

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

With reference to your query on BWD Relay part# R647 there is no headlight relay for your 1992 Ford Ranger. Power goes through the light switch, to the multifunction (multi-function) switch and then to the bulbs. So there is no specific relay for the headlights on your vehicle. For any further assistance, please visit your nearest Advance Auto store or call us directly at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and one of our representatives there would be more than happy to assist you.
