My wife has a 2006 Mercury Milan that has 180K on it and still going strong. One of the things that was due to change was the the transaxle fluid. With care consideration, and not having to use the "motorcraft" brand FNR5, The specs for the Castrol, seemed to have a match. I did a complete tranmission flush (9 qts) siphoned out another after a few miles driving, then added a qt of Lucas additive for transmissions, Between this and the Castrol,smooth shifts were there again. This oil is the same as shell that bmw uses on their newer cars and it cost alot less. I changed it in my car about 20k miles ago and the transmission shifts perfectly.

93 accord w/182,000 miles. I flushed 3 times plus last fill to bring the total to 10 quarts. No pan off. Does not shift as hard. Do plan on changing again in 15,000 miles as recommened. Make sure you check level again after car sits for a day as all the contaminents cause the reading to change. Kind of like puting ice cubes in a glass of water with regards to displacement of liquid.

I flushed the transmission fluid for my 2005 Mazda3 and 2002 Mazda Tribute. I experienced slightly smoother shifting. This is not a magic fluid that can bring your dead transmission back to life, but good product for regular maintenance.

Just took out the bolt let it drain and refilled the bad boy back up. The only problem was I was one and a half quarts short from what they said my car took.

I was a little skeptical of this transmission fluid for Mazda's since it did not mention Mazda M-V anywhere on the label. The Castrol website claims this fluid is compatible though. Everyone says Mazda's a very hard on transmission fluids and they are correct! at 68k miles, the mazda fluid was completely black!! It looked like used oil it was so bad! I never noticed any transmission problems, may some sluggishness, but after doing two back to back drain and fills (didnt want to do a full flush) My Mazda 3 drives like a brand new car!! only put about 3k miles on this fluid so far, but still no problems. Plan to do a drain and fill at every oil change now that I know how hard mazda's are on the fluid.

After an exhaustive search for the exotic and extremely high priced BMW ESSO LT-71141 transmission fluid, for my BMW 2004 Z4 2.4, I found that this fluid is a better and much less expensive replacement. Note: It is not changeable by a home mechanic and is best done at a shop. BMW wanted $19 for a half liter of the ESSO. This product is about $6 a quart, or roughly $3 a half liter.Thank you Castrol, once again you provided a great product at a great price.Customer for life.
