When I remove the old filter the gasket did not came off, I was trying to take it off then i decided that probably the factory was better than the one comes in the box. Installed the new filter and fit well. Is wort it.
Before the day i change the transmission I ask at the chevy dealer how much they would charge me for transmission change and they said: $165.
It only took me 1 hour to 1h:30min.
For the safety I use the glue gasket lube it said did not required but for the safety and avoid leaks I added. I did this change on 60k and right now is on 70k is running well and no leaks at all.

Use the factory re-usable gasket. The cheap one that comes with the filter is not worth the chance of it leaking. Price is right for the filter, and it fits just fine. If you decide to use the new filter mount, tap it in with a socket and rubber mallet, don't use a hammer.

messy, but a simple procedure. it would be nice if it came with a small package of grease so one could use a small amount to hold the gasket in position to the pan so the bolt holes don't become misaligned while positioning the pan to the transmission regardless if you use re-use the oe gasket or the one that came with the filter.

this is a standard transmission filter kit it comes with the gasket and the actual filter. i have an oldsmobile 88ls 1999 model. with the 3800 v6 motor, im trying to keep it super maintenanced. my mechanic says those cars and motors will run 250,000 miles with good maintenance. this kit was easy to purchaseand easy to install with easy instructions. dont forget to buy good quality transmission fluid and i also use slick 50 high mileage transmission treatment or lucas with each transmission fluid change. this is important to have fresh tranny fluid in summer heat

                      A:

A clutch disengages the engine from the driven gears in the transmission for shifting. If the drive is not disengaged entirely, the gears will not properly mesh when attempting to shift. The result is a hard--or impossible--shift. Wrong, low or contaminated transmission fluid adversely affect the ability to shift gears. Gears must be turning at the same speed, in order for them to mesh together. The synchronizer mechanism prevents the transmission gears from engaging one another if speeds are mismatched. It is not uncommon for a driver to neglect fully engaging the clutch while shifting. While this may not pose a problem at first, over time the transmission and clutch will experience excessive wear. The result is a transmission that is hard to shift. However, we would suggest that you take your vehicle to a certified mechanic for further diagnosis. For further assistance, please feel free to call us at 1-877-238-2623 or visit your nearest Advance Auto Parts store and one of our representatives would be more than happy to assist you.

There are many things that can prevent a transmission from shifting properly, including but not limited to: Low fluid level, improperly adjusted linkages, failed shift solenoid, worn out clutches, internal mechanical failure. I would return to the shop who rebuilt the transmission for inspection.
