After 24 years, my 1989 Honda Civic Wagovan's driver side low-beam headlight went out. I returned to Advance's website (I'm led to it by Advance's discount emails, which I use often enough), which has nicely improved over the years and has good User Reviews.

One review warned me not to trust Advance to "get it right" in nailing down the precise part number. I thus confirmed the part number for my replacement headlamp bulb with a "Chat Rep." Alas, it was wrong -- I got a hi-beam replacement -- and I was glad I changed the bulb out in the store's parking lot, but upset that I had to wait in line 15 minutes to swap out and get the right bulb.

Still, I give 5 stars to this bulb and purchase experience because I would not have attempted the job without the nice "how-to" video Advance supplied (note to management: Furnish a video link next to each product, OK?), and I want to encourage Advance to keep working on a smooth transaction process with the lowest prices for quality parts.

Check old bulb before ordering new bulb

My car ended up requiring the headlight made in Germany. The USA bulb & the Germany bulb have different mounting features and different elec. connectors.

      Comments about Sylvania Halogen Headlight:

OEM replacement for the high beam. I thought (when I ordered it) that it was the low beam replacement since the product description states "Exact fit" for my vehicle. The actual OEM low beam bulb is a $100/ea HID bulb. Be sure to research what you actually need BEFORE ordering; will save you time and frustration.

        Comments about Sylvania Halogen Headlight:

I replaced my high dollar PIAA bulbs with these on my 2010 Honda Civic EX. Since they are used for daytime running lights on this car, the long life of the bulb is great. For high beam use, these are not as bright (although brighter than I expected) or white as the expensive PIAA bulbs I had previously used; however, they are a fraction of the cost. It just makes $ense to replace your burnt out bulbs with these.

                  Comments about Sylvania Halogen Headlight:

These basic halogen bulbs are a lot cheaper and lasts way longer than the other options, but they aren't very bright.

Because I personally don't use my high beams much, I decided to save myself money by buying these for my high beams and then a pair of Silverstar Ultras for my low beams. I highly recommend doing this because you'll save yourself a lot of money this way, especially if your daytime lights are your high beams. Having bright low beams is a lot more important than having bright high beams.

The connector in my 2007 Honda Accord requires one alignment tab in the connector. This bulb has two and does not fit. It is not an exact replacement.

Part was listed as replacement for headlight/running light. I needed a daytime runing light so purchased on line but when I finally go to my bad bulb, it was not the same. I needed what was listed as a fog light and had to return to the shop to exchange.

If you would visit our Advance Know How section, click on "How-To Video Clinic," then click on the "Headlight Replacement" video and it gives instuctions on how to replace a headlight. For just the bulb depending on what type of vehicle you own they usually just twist the adapter attached to the bulb and it pulls out and then you would snap in the new bulb.
