These bulbs are good if you get them on sale and you don't use your headlights often. Per the back of the packaging the life is only rated at 200hrs which is about 1/6th of a standard halogen. They work good in my application because the car that I installed them in is rarely driven at night. They are definately an improvement over the standard halogens in the visability deptartment. If the car is going to be used to drive at night a lot them I would recommend looking into Philips HIR bulbs (Halogen Infrared Reflective)- they are more money but better performance and they last 1200 hrs. Niether of these are as good as a decent set of HID lamps though.

These bulbs give a very bright white light, good improvement over stock. Only problem is they don't last long, and they are expensive. I have a 2000 chey s10, and the daytime running lights are the low beams. I have replaced a total of 4 low beam bulbs in less than 2 years. Bottom line probably a good replacement bulb, if your not burning them day, and night

Comments about Sylvania SilverStar ULTRA TWIN Halogen Headlight:
One of the 1st upgrades I do to all new vehicles I purchase is to upgrade Headlight Brightness. I do night driving daily as a shift worker, it's always dark either going to, or leaving my job. I find that the increased brighteness of the Low beam that I seldom use the High Beam, but when I do, it lights up the world. I just replaced the 1st set of Sylvania Silverstar Ultra 9006SU since putting the 1st set I installed in 2006. What I like most is the Brightness, and length of service I get from this product.

Comments about Sylvania SilverStar ULTRA TWIN Halogen Headlight:
I love the brightness of these bulbs!! But, I cannot afford to replace every 4-5 months. There is a note to that effect on the packaging too, something along the lines of due to high performance, service life may be shortened. They're right, heed the warning. Excellent brightness, short life expectancy.

The bulbs were easy to install and lived up to billing. Replaced the stock head lights on my 99 accord and could notice an immediate difference in the amount of light being projected. It also helped that I got 20% off by buying them online from Advance Auto Parts.

Comments about Sylvania SilverStar ULTRA TWIN Halogen Headlight:
If it is difficult to install headlight bulbs in your car, you need to rethink your choices. The Honda Civic requires partially removing the wheel well liner to reach in to change this bulb. It's time consuming. I just did this 12 mos ago, now I have to do this all over again.

Comments about Sylvania SilverStar ULTRA TWIN Halogen Headlight:
I put these in an 03 cadilac DHS. I saw negligible improvement over the lights that were previously in it. I work nights and so do a lot of night driving and like to have plenty of distance. I think for this vehicle I will go with the standard bulbs next time.
I purchased this product in a differrent form factor for my 08 F150 about 6 months ago and saw tremendous improvement. It was for this reason I decided to purchase these lights for the car even though both lights still worked. I would probably look into seeing how these types of lights have worked for specific vehicles in the future. I don't know if it is the lights themselves or how the vehicle is set up that creates some of the limitations on sight distance.

Comments about Sylvania SilverStar ULTRA TWIN Halogen Headlight:
Minor improvement from the OEM lights, but don't add much visibility (these replaced fog lights), probably due to the HID headlights. Still a nice upgrade from an aesthetic standpoint.

VERIFIED BUYER
A:
IT DEPENDS ON THE VEHICLE YOU ARE PLANNING TO INSTALL THEM IN.VERIFIED BUYER
A:
Depends. Match the right part number with your car and they are direct replacments, some cars are easier than others but if you by from the Advanced Autoparts store locally the guy behind the counter should be good enough to replace them for you. They do at O'Rielly's.A:
You should be able to install these bulbs yourself, but it depends on the car make. You'd still be able to install them but some cars manufacturers make it harder to get at the bulb location, while others it's a simple click off a plastic connector, unscrew a lock ring, remove the bulb and replace. It all depends on the car make and model.Q:
I am assuming that I will need to purchase two packs of this headlamp since my high-beams are separate bulbs, correct? If so, will two packs of the same bulb work? Sometimes they have a different model for high-beams.1 answer
A:
Most cars have a different application when working with a 4 headlight system. The high beam and low beam bulbs do usually consist of different part numbers. For example, my Honda requires 9005 for high beam and 9006 for low beams.Q:
On average, how much less product life do these lamps have versus standard lamps? What is the average life of these lamps?1 answer
