THE PROBLEM I HAD WAS WITH THE MOUNTING SPACER- (BUSHING) THAT IS SUPPOSED TO SLIDE UP FLUSH WITH THE ALTERNATOR MOUNTING BRACKET - THE LONG ALTERNATOR BOLT GOES THROUGH BOTH- THE BUSHING IS CONTINUOUS AND HAS NO SPLIT- AND THE MATERIAL IS A VERY HARD METAL - THE BUSHIBNG WOULD NOT BUDGE-NOT MOVE AT ALL - SO I RETURNED THE ALTERNATOR [...] AND GOT MY EXCHANGE ALTERNATOR - INSTALLED IT AND IT WORKS GREAT- THE REPLACEMENT ALTERNATOR HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BE A BRASS MATERIAL MOUNTING BUSHING- AND THIS MAKES ALL THE DIFERENCE -THE BUSHING ON THE REPLACEMANT ALTERNATOR MOVED AS IT SHOULD TO BRIDGE THE GAP IN THE MOUNTING BRACKET AND ALTERNATOR- [...] MY RECOMENDATION IS TO START USING A SPLIT BUSHING OR SOFTER MATERIAL FOR THE BUSHING - SO IT WILL NOT BIND AND FREEZE UP DURING INSTALLATION - THANK YOU FOR READING MY COMMENTS- I GRATLY APPRECIATE IT!!
