Comments about Bosch Premium Oxygen Sensor:

I have a 99 Ford Ranger 2.5 liter. Had a bad sensor so I replaced it with the Bosch. I got this one because the wires are longer. If I would of bought the cheaper one, it would have been to short, even though it said exact fit for my truck. Look under the specs and it will tell you how long they are. Go for the longer one!!!

This sensor fit our '01 Escape v6 perfectly - the connector was correct, wire length was correct and threads were correct. After a few weeks of use, it seems to be holding out fine, but I'd hope it would last another 100,000 miles.

                            • CUSTOMER CARE

                              A:

The lean codes commonly occur on many Ford vehicles, and are set when the powertrain control module (PCM) sees the air/fuel mixture is running too lean (too much air, not enough fuel). A lean fuel condition may exist if the engine is sucking in too much air and/or the fuel system is not delivering enough fuel. If bad enough, a lean fuel condition may cause lean misfire, a rough idle, hesitation or stumble when accelerating, and/or poor engine performance. Unmetered air can enter the engine through a vacuum leak, a dirty airflow sensor that is not reading airflow accurately, an EGR valve is not closing and is leaking exhaust into the intake manifold, an EGR valve that is allowing too much flow (because the EGR differential pressure sensor that monitors EGR flow is faulty and is under-reporting EGR flow). If the problem is not enough fuel, the cause may be a weak fuel pump, restricted fuel filter, leaky fuel pressure regulator or dirty fuel injectors. Some other common issues would be a dirty mass airflow (MAF) sensor, an engine vacuum leak, a bad EGR differential pressure sensor. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

There are 4 but actually there are two, front two sensors are considered as oxygen sensor they are screwed into the exhaust pipe, one on each bank, after the exhaust manifold, but before the catalytic converter and later two as catalyst monitors. What type: please specify the full model for further assistance.

The oxygen sensor is located in the Catalytic converter. Most late model cars have two sensors. There will be one at the front of the catalytic converter, and one at the rear.

I have a 2003 Ford Escape with a 3.0 motor and I am wondering where the Preminium Oxygen Sensor (15718) goes. There are four oxygen sensors and I am not sure which one it goes into.

The oxygen sensors is positioned in the exhaust pipe and can detect rich and lean mixtures.

                              A:

Bank 2 is located on the driver’s side of the engine and sensor 1 is in the exhaust which is located close to the engine before the exhaust passes through the catalytic converter.
