You will need to first remove the snap ring from the back of your master cylinder and pull the piston and pushrod out of the back of the master cylinder. Once this is done, put the piston in a vice, and, with a hacksaw, cut a slot through the side of the piston parallel to and in line with the pushrod. When you get about half way through the piston, you will cut through the clip that secures the pushrod and you will be able to slide it out. However, if you are a novice I would suggest you to get assistance from a mechanic as to avoid damage to the piston. Q:
How do you remove the c clip on the lower rod to remove and replace the switch?
Pull cover, remove differential pinion shaft (aka center pin) sometimes the lockbolt is broken. If broken, it comes out easy enough with screw extractors, push axle in to expose c-clip, remove c-clip and pull axle out of housing. You can use some pliers to pull the clips out. For any further assistance please feel free to call 1-877-238-2623 and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

Q:
hiw do i replace this ? im having trouble figuring out how to remove my old one ?
I recommend purchasing a Haynes repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.
The clutch starter safety switch is located under the clutch on all vehicles that have manual transmissions. The are designed to prevent the car from being started while still in gear.
