These were bought to replace ball joints on a 97 Lincoln Continental front wheel knuckle. Found that they also replace the rear wheel spindle ball joints. Both front and rear ball joints are the same and are easy to press out and just as easy to press back in. Don't let anyone tell you the front or rear ball joints can't be replaced. They just want to sell you a new front wheel knuckle and or rear wheel spindle with the new ball joints in them. Either one is very expensive and a big waste of your hard earned money.

Yes, all joints are pressed into the lower control arm with a hydraulic press. There are ways to press the old ones out and new ones in, but they involve specialized tools.Answered on 5/9/2011 by Just Ask Jacob! from AAP
