Comments about BWD MAP Sensor:
Wanted to update the MAP sensor. Unfortunately, we were not able to. the grey BWD sensor has a latching mechanism that does not seat the connector fully (causing erratic behavior and CEL). That said we only tried one and did not try another. Beware of the connection system on the grey BWD MAP senor.

Comments about BWD MAP Sensor:
The mounting bolts that stick out of the backside of the engine were too large to fit in this new map sensor. or should I say the map sensor's holes were too small.

Q:
Could a bad MAP sensor in my 1988 Chev. C1500 pickup cause the fuel injectors to drip rather than spray? We've already tried replacing the fuel injectors.1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The bad MAP sensor may be the possible cause of the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.Q:
i have a 1994 cavalier it runs fine as long as you got it opened up but a low speed it acts like it loads up with fuel & wants to miss & when i give it the gas there is a little bit of black smoke comes out of the tailpipe will a bad map sensor cause this ?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
Black exhaust smoke is a rich fuel mixture caused by weak spark ignition and or faulty map sensor. Check map sensor vacuum hose and electrical connector because bad map sensor will cause rich fuel mixture. Check the vacuum line going to fuel pressure regulator, make sure fuel pressure regulator getting vacuum at vacuum line, if not look for broken or disconnected vacuum line to fuel pressure regulator. Check fuel pressure regulator vacuum line, if you see gasoline in vacuum diaphram to fuel pressure regulator, replace fuel pressure regulator. check the evap canister, if gas soak it will cause rich fuel mixture.Q:
What exactly does this part do? And where would it be located on a 1996 Chevy Corsica?1 answer
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
The manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP sensor) is one of the sensors used in an internal combustion engine's electronic control system. Engines that use a MAP sensor are typically fuel injected. The manifold absolute pressure sensor provides instantaneous manifold pressure information to the engine's electronic control unit (ECU). The data is used to calculate air density and determine the engine's air mass flow rate, which in turn determines the required fuel metering for optimum combustion.Q:
