It was ready for me to pick up when I arrived at the store. I'd never done a distributor cap/rotor before and honestly thought there would be a lot more to it. Piece of cake to install. Just need to make sure you don't loose track of where the plug wires go. Had a little trouble with that as there wasn't much slack in my wires, but I made it work. It fits perfectly to replace my old one. Surprisingly it didn't make any noticeable difference even though my old one was horrid inside, carbon scoring like you wouldn't believe. A hint I do on many car repairs - use a permanent marker and write the date and mileage on the part, so you quickly can see down the road when you replaced it.

Why Accel with all their yellow products decided to make their SBC OEM replacment cap out of tan plastic I'll never know, but I'm not building show cars. Its a quality cap, with brass terminals, and no sloppy mold flash lines, or other such marks of inferior products. Install is as simple as any other cap and rotor.

I replaced this cap after about 4 years with the previous ACCEL replacement. Same quality product, same ugly color, however this cap and rotor was made in [@] whereas the previous one was from this hemisphere! As I recall the price was pretty much the same over that span of years. It solved a problem that I had with misfires and crossfires and the power has been restored along with improved gas mileage, I hope.

I just went to store number 09300 to to purchase a cap and rotor kit part number 8132 (GM HEI Cap and Rotor Kit by Accel) and the sales person Michael H on my receipt, told me the cap and rotor were never sold in a kit and refused to look for part number 8132 i got from the web site. The price on the web page was $27.49. I even gave him the part number and discription, color and everything. After ringing up the two items seperately the total bill was $44.31. The receipt is dated 9/27/2010 at 18:54:24 Reg 03. If the web page is wrong it needs to be fixed, if the store is ripping off loyal customers, they need to be fixed also.Asked on 9/27/2010 by Don from Mobile, Alabama1 answer
