Good product, gets the job done. The adjustment mechanism is not terribly impressive, but seems hearty and effective. The locking slider on the handle that locks in the torque setting could be better... I slipped and knocked it to "unlocked" a couple times while using it. However, I have no immediate ideas on improving the design and it works well enough :P

i bought this because my snap-on torque wrench was done for as it couldnt torque anything below 100 ft poundsthis torque wrench for ME is hit and miss, i like it because i only paid like [$] for it and because the it goes to 250 ft pounds and as low as i believe 20 ft pounds...and it seems really durable the handle is really nicei dont like it because the ratcheting function freaking sucks. you had better hope your pretty close before you bust out the torque wrench because if not your going to be frustrated switching it from tighten to loose to tighten and maybe have to do it again. all in all i give it a 2.5-3 outta 5 because of the price and 250 ft pound of torque...normally eh torque wrenches that go to 250 are 150+

Comments about Autocraft 1/2" Drive 250 ft.-lb. Torque Wrench:

Very Cheaply Made. You will use it one time, and then it will break. AA has replaced it once. I've used the replacement once, and now I'm taking it back to get a third one so it will be ready for the next time I need a Torque Wrench. I pulled the second one out of the case, and the locking pin (really just a thick sticker with a pin) fell off. I would not recommend it. Especially with the Mercury warning label that falls out when you open the case.

Torque wrench lock/unlock plastic part was slightly cracked, the rachet part is cheep, sticks a little and then wont rachet unless you push on the plastic racheting knob. one time use its ok, kind of cheaply made, you get what you pay for , this wrench was on the cheap priced end.

Comments about Autocraft 1/2" Drive 250 ft.-lb. Torque Wrench:

I bought this product due to its torquing range (20-250 ft-lbs). I was replacing the wheel bearings on my SUV and needed a good torque wrench for reassembling the knuckle assembly (mostly for torquing the axle nut). This torque wrench worked great and has not failed me yet. I have used it to torque lug nuts on multiple tire rotations and even torquing my spark plugs (versatility).

My major complaint is that the locking switch used plastic parts for switching from lock to unlock and they fell apart on only my second major use of the product. I had to bend a cotter pin in the shape of the plastic clip and duck tape it onto the locking switch in order to repair it. Since then it has worked flawlessly. I recommend this to anyone who is willing to spend some time replacing the plastic clip.

As stated the tool is a 25 to 250 foot-pound torque wrench. It would be rare to find a wrench calibrated in inch-pounds using a 1/2 inch drive. Rare and counter productive as the weight of the tool could be more than the desired torque setting.

I was curious to know this as well as other things about this item so I called my local store.

                  I was told it's 1/2" drive and covers 30-250 ft.lbs.

Whether or not it's accurate or properly calibrated or a precision torque wrench, I haven't a clue.

If I decide to go and buy one, and if after looking it over I do buy one, and then use it, I'll come back and gice a review/post my thoughts...
