An integrated A/D converter and digital signal processing with a dynamically adaptive switch point helps improve accuracy and operation. Advanced circuitry protects the system from stray electromagnetic fields and power spikes.
The CKP is located just behind the timing belt cover (drive belt assembly, not serpentine belt.) Its bolted on and wire may need to be re-routed to top of engine, because factory wedges it in between a very tight space for a wire.

Q:
Does a 1993 Ford Ranger 2.3L 4cyl. SOHC eng. use a camshaft sensor? And where is it located..Thanks.
Asked on 11/11/2010 by wstrnmd from Cumberland,Md.
The camshaft sensor is going to be near the camshaft. If it is an OHC it is going to be on the valve cover. If it is not an OHC then it will be at about the middle of the engine block.
