    on a 94 ford ranger with the 2.3l where would this sensor be located at

      A:

      The CKP is located just behind the timing belt cover (drive belt assembly, not serpentine belt.) Its bolted on and wire may need to be re-routed to top of engine, because factory wedges it in between a very tight space for a wire.

      Yes it does use a camshaft position sensor. It is located under hood, driver side, upper engine area, mounted on front of intake manifold

      A:

      The camshaft sensor is going to be near the camshaft. If it is an OHC it is going to be on the valve cover. If it is not an OHC then it will be at about the middle of the engine block.
